Automatic MV reclosers for self-healing feeders.

Pole-mounted reclosers with an intelligent controller that clear transient faults automatically and lock out on permanent faults. They isolate the faulted section and restore supply to the healthy part of the feeder in seconds — without dispatching a crew — and coordinate with the rest of your protection scheme.

Capabilities

Most faults are temporary — so most outages are avoidable.

The majority of MV overhead faults are transient (a branch, a bird, a flashover). A recloser rides through them automatically, so customers never see an outage; only permanent faults trigger a lockout.

How it works

Trip, wait, re-close — then lock out.

On a fault, the recloser trips, waits a set dead time and re-closes. If the fault has cleared, supply is back and nobody noticed. If it persists after the programmed shots, it locks out — isolating only the faulted section.

The recloser trips instantly to interrupt the fault current.
